Zapata Gallery inaugurates Project 3 (Proj3ct), curated by Rodolfo de Athayde, which proposes individual exhibitions coexisting in parallel, with their own narratives and languages. This proposal allows us to expand the offerings of our programming and encourages the coexistence of artists, providing space for their personal voices.
In this edition, we present Epizootia, drawings and books by Camila Lobón, Memorias Selectivas, paintings and sculptures by Nelson J. Sardiñas, and The Red Stone, photos and installations by Alejandro Taquechel.
With no intentional connection between the work of these three artists, there is a common background in the way each of them approach their critical, nostalgic, reflective, and even sordid views of the reality and origin they share. They are wandering artists who bring a common memory in their bags and expose it in a foreign territory but, at the same time, demand its appropriation.
