Niels Reyes

Niels Reyes is a graduate in Painting from the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana in 2006. His academic background includes completing studies in Middle Level Plastic Arts at the professional art school "Oscar Fernández Morera" in Trinidad in 1998, and obtaining the Elementary Level of Plastic Arts at the EVA "Olga Alonso" in Santa Clara in 1992.

In his work, Niels Reyes explores the human condition, focusing on the anxiety that underlies our culture. His interest lies in gesture and the ephemeral, elements that in turn constitute the permanent and the unchanged in being. His paintings reflect a freshness that captures the most fleeting details, often directly linked to his personal experiences. He finds inspiration in the street, photos, films, and even his own imagination.
